An enterprising – but illegal – casino operator in Northern Vietnam is facing a slew of charges after local police became suspicious of a public transport bus parked in a residential neighbourhood, and investigated.

Inside they found a mini casino and arrested 12 gamblers, reports Thanhnien News, including operator Le Anh Thong (32), who admitted that he had bought the bus and retained its distinctive public transport livery whilst removing the 45 seats to make way for gambling equipment.

The vehicle was moved often to prevent local residents from getting suspicious, he said.

The equivalent of around US$4,800 in cash, nine cell phones and two hand guns, along with a small packet of suspected drugs, were seized by the police.
