Online and mobile game monetisation platform Cashplay.co has claimed a first in offering global player-versus-player real-money skill gaming tournaments on the Apple iOS App Store.

“Crazy Lazy Runner”, produced by Madrid-based G4M3 Studios, is reportedly the first App Store-approved game to feature cashplay.co’s monetisation platform.

Cashplay.co chief executive officer Jarrod Epps said: “This is a watershed moment for iOS developers. Instead of driving gamers away with ads or in-app purchases — methods that simply don’t work for the majority of titles — developers can use a competitive platform that not only makes money but also makes games more attractive to players. The fact we’re able to offer this worldwide brings a massive potential audience to the game.”

“Being able to quickly and easily integrate cashplay.co’s player-versus-player cash tournaments into our game means there’s now a viable alternative to ineffective and disruptive monetization techniques. Skill-gaming is a win-win for developers, bringing in extra revenue without interfering with gameplay,” added Juancho Carrillo, head of studio at G4M3 Studios.

The company partnered with multiplayer mobile gaming platform Nextpeer back in August, allowing its 1000 plus iOS and Android game developers to access new revenue streams by integrating cash tournaments into their games (see previous InfoPowa report) and confirms it has another 57 game titles from 31 developers currently in the pipeline.
