Camelot, the operator of the UK national lottery, has applauded the H1-2015 performance of its digital channel, which it says is mainly responsible for a year-on-year rise of GBP 145 million in sales during the half-year to end September.

The operator of Britain’s favourite betting option reported total sales of GBP 3.6 billion, with mobile sales up an impressive 72 percent and accounting for over 35 percent of all sales.

The report also singles out the performance of the lottery’s GameStore range of online and in-store instant play games which boosted sales by 15 percent compared to H1-2014.

Camelot paid out GBP 2 billion in prize money during the six-month period, bring total disbursements to players to date to over GBP 57 billion.
