It seems almost every day brings reports of new mobile apps launched for online gamblers as the general app wave continues to build through a variety of commercial sectors.

This week, analytics firm Research2Guidance predicted a growing business in apps for the second half of the year following reports that mobile app downloads to the value of $2.2 billion were recorded for the first half of 2010, and that this will grow rapidly to achieve $15 billion in revenue by 2013.

The Berlin-based company revealed that 3.8 billion apps were downloaded in the first half of the year compared to 3.1 billion apps for all of 2009, and said that it expected these figures to show continued growth.

Mobile app store PocketGear confirmed the upward trend, and was even more optimistic, claiming that several industry analysts are agreed that mobile app revenues will reach $20 billion by 2013.
