Microgaming spokesmen claim that the company’s latest development, a real money casino app for Windows Phone, is an industry first now available in the Windows Phone Store.

The app is suitable for any device running on either Windows Phone 8.0 or Windows Phone 8.1, and was developed from scratch using native code and native user interface components. It features over 35 quality Microgaming games, including online slots, progressives, table games and video poker.

John Quinn, head of casino at Microgaming, said Thursday that the app has been designed with the end user in mind; a simple and intuitive user interface allows a player to install and play a game in two taps. It also detects the player’s device type and alters the experience to ensure the best gameplay.

Quinn says the app will be updated, adding new games, new features and enhancing its performance, regularly. In addition, updates will be made to ensure compatibility with new Windows operating systems, such as Windows 10, which when released will enable the app to run on more Windows devices.

“We follow mobile developments very closely and recent statistics show that the Windows Phone market share is increasing significantly across many European countries,” Quinn said. “With this in mind, we believe that Microsoft’s mobile platform is an important one to invest in.”

Currently available at Jackpot City, it is anticipated that the app will be rolled out to additional Microgaming licensees in 2015.
