Canadian social gaming developer Isis Lab, in collaboration with TelecomX, is to provide MTN Group Limited, Africa’s largest mobile operator, with its mobile gaming app social gaming platform IsisFriends.

Headquartered in South Africa, MTN currently operates across most of Africa and the Middle East and has approximately 215 million subscribers.

The agreement provides for a variety of initiatives, including the Isis gaming platform being preloaded onto MTN’s smart phones, which MTN estimates will be sold to over one million customers during 2014 in South Africa alone.

Initially, Isis will launch its fully functional mobile proprietary Bingo game to MTN customers on a free-play basis. Upon successful launch of this initial application, Isis will introduce additional games to the MTN base, which hold a significant track record of success within the Facebook/ Apple and Android networks, generating revenues based on Freemium, in-Game ads and other non-gambling revenue models.

Isis Lab CEO Daniel Kajouie said the deal, and MTN’s large customer base, enabled his company to deliver its unique suite of cross border, multi-lingual social games that have found good traction in other parts of the world.

MTN SA general manager – products and solutions, Mike Fairon, said, “We believe that the offering that TelecomX/ Isis brings will enable MTN SA to carve a niche in the market and make us a leader in the rapidly growing world of mobile social gaming.”
