Legislation passed earlier this year to permit on-premises gambling in Atlantic City  casino resorts (see previous InfoPowa reports) has been signed off by New Jersey governor Chris Christie and is set for implementation this year, reports the publication NorthJersey.com
Assemblyman John Burzichelli, who co-sponsored the bill, says handheld gambling devices are a smart adaptation of technology by the casinos that will help keep them competitive in an increasingly crowded market, providing a significant new revenue stream to struggling casinos.
